새벽에 일어나니 비가 많이 내린다. 108배를 하고 메일을 보니 Joey Spatafora 동충하초 연구그릅 회장으로부터 온 메일이 있다. 이제 동충하초는 세계적으로 하나의 그룹으로 활동하게 되었고 그 그룹의 중심에 한국의 연구원이 있다. 그룹에 속하여 일하면서 나는 동충하초를 현미로 재배하여 많은 인류에게 건강을 지킬 수 있는 일을 하고 싶다. 동충하초 사랑을 애호하여 주시는 모든 분들의 성원이 있어 한국의 동충하초가 세계적인 동충하초가 되기를 지극한 마음으로 발원을 한다.

메일의 내용은 다음과 같다.

 

Dear Cordyceps Working Group,

Hello to everyone.  I hope you are having a great summer, or winter depending on your hemisphere.  My apologies for the long communication silence.  It has been a busy spring here, but things seem to be starting to move with respect to the establishment of working groups.  For more information on such groups see http://www.fungaltaxonomy.org/subcommissions.  I think they will be adding our group to the site.

The topic of moving to a single system of nomenclature will be discussed at numerous meetings this year.  At the Mycological Society of America there will be there will be a symposium (Symposium 3) and a Hypocreales workshop after the meeting (http://msa2012.net/).  

I will be attending the meeting and I will be at the morning session of the Hypocreales workshop.  Unfortunately, because I live on the other side of the US, I will have to leave around 11am to catch my flight home.  Regardless, my understanding of this meeting is to coordinate the activities across the groups so that we work as synergistically as possible.

Please let me know if you will be in attendance at the MSA meeting and if you will be participating in the nomenclature workshop after the meeting.  Afterwards, I will send out notes from the meeting and hopefully we will be able to make some progress and recommendations in relatively short order.
