2010년 4월 14일 독일 과학자로부터 Possibility for Korean-German scientific cooperation라는 제목읋 메일이 왔다. 대학에 있는 동안 동충하초를 연구하고 정년을 한 후 태기산 자락에 있는 머쉬텍 동충하초연구소에 근무하는데 독일에서 공동연구를 제의를 하여 국가기관에 근무를 하지 않기 때문에 공동 연구를 할 수 없다고 편지를 내었다. 독일까지 동충하초를 하는 것이 알리어지었다면 동충하초가 바라는 세계화에 조금씩 가까워지어 마음속으로 기쁘다. 편지 내용은 다음과 같다.

please allow me first to introduce myself to you. My name is Andreas Leclerque. I am currently leading the laboratory of Molecular Microbiology and Genetics of the Institute of Biological Control of the Federal Research Centre of Cultivated Plants at
Darmstadt, Germany. I allow myself to attach my publication list for your information.
One of my research topics are entomopathogenic fungi, mainly of the form-genera /Beauveria/ and /Metarhizium/. A question that I have started to study some time ago is if mating behaviour can be induced under controlled conditions in these anamorphs. Within this context, the molecular analysis of related /Cordyceps/ isolates is of obvious interest. I know that you have contributed to an investigation of the mating type locus of Cordicipitaceae fungi. In fact, I have received your e-mail address from Richard Humber at ARSEF.
Recently, a cll for a Korean-German cooperation program has been published. It is designed for the promotion of small scientific
cooperation projects that establish a first contact between scientists from our home countries. I think it could be a good point of departure for a future cooperation. If of your interest, you can get more information from:
